What is WPL ( Women's Premier Leagure)

The Women's Premier League (WPL) is a professional cricket league in India, similar to the Indian Premier League (IPL) but exclusively for women. The league was launched in 2019 by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and is played in a T20 format. The Women's Premier League features six teams representing different cities in India, with players from all over the country competing against each other. The league aims to provide a platform for women's cricket in India and to help develop young talent in the sport. The inaugural season of the Women's Premier League was held in 2019 and was won by Supernovas. The league was not held in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the BCCI has announced that the league will return in 2022 with an expanded format. Like the IPL, the Women's Premier League is expected to attract top players from around the world, including Australia, England, and the West Indies, and provide a showcase for women's cricket in India
